W&K Still Quite Good

Wayne Rooney hits the target.

The whole 'is it real or is it fake' debate has actually become a positive now, in my opinion, as I reckon people show these things to their mates and ask them what they think.

Here's a superb tactical ad on the same theme, a poster that has just gone up in Liverpool (who recently signed Fernando Torres to be their new No.9)

Full story here.

I must be losing touch with the new world. To me the Rooney ad is ok-ish but predictable and the Tevez one is poor. There;s better user generated stuff out there than Rooney and it's a poor imitation of Tiger Woods Hackysack from a few years back

actually there is one with Rooney shooting at the director of the commercial. quite predictable as well but funny. especially because the director asks him to do more Ronaldinho-ish stuff.

my football mad 13 y/o is unimpressed by apparently slinky displays on the training field - he's sceptical about their authenticity. I showed him the Rooney ad. He loved it because it's simple and looks real.

what is it about soccer that it resists yielding great commercials? this one's OK. mainly because it doesn't try too hard.
